Independent governance infrastructure built by a founder who works inside the standards bodies writing the rules. Not a research project.
The founder.
When Boone started learning AI, the question he kept hearing from friends, family, and coworkers was the same one showing up in the news: who's going to watch the AI? Does AI watch itself?
So he researched it. He found an entire community working on AI governance, standards bodies, frameworks, working groups. He got involved. But the deeper he went, the more he noticed the same pattern everywhere: every governance approach put the rules and policies inside the AI system itself.
That's self-policing. It's a basketball game with no referees.
The external theory came from that observation. If you can't trust a system to govern itself, the authority has to live outside it, the same reason air traffic control isn't run by the pilots flying the aircraft. Synchronicity is that external authority for AI. The control tower the standards bodies kept describing but hadn't built.
Standards involvement.
Synchronicity isn't built in isolation from the standards landscape. The founder is an active contributor to the bodies writing the rules.
- OWASP AISVS — contributor on C9.7.7 (input provenance for AI agents), C5.6.5 (action-chain governance), and C5.6.6 (decision artifact requirements).
- NIST AI Agent Security RFI — submission 2026-00206, addressing runtime governance separation between model, authority, and execution.
- NIST COSAiS — engaged in the Coordinated Open-Source AI Security initiative.
- IEEE P2863 — submitted formal line-item comments on the D2 draft (March 2026) of the Recommended Practice for Organizational Governance of AI, via IEEE Program Manager Christy Bahn. Comments span Safety, Controllability, Accountability, Auditing, Incident Response, and Privacy. The working group has not adopted, endorsed, or published this work.
- IEEE P3301 — participant in the working group on the Unified Interoperability Standard, Multi-Agent Cooperative Reasoning, and External Governance Authority. Participation only; no endorsement or conformity claim.
What this isn't.
Synchronicity isn't a research paper, a benchmark suite, or a model. It's a neutral, non-executing governance authority that sits outside the AI system and outside the execution path. The model decides what to propose. Synchronicity decides whether the proposal is authorized. Execution carries out only what was approved. Synchronicity never executes the action itself — that separation is the security property. Every decision leaves a signed, replayable record.
If that separation matches how you think governance should work, the next step is a briefing.
